Gas Sweetening in the Oil and Gas Industry
MMA is used in natural gas processing facilities to remove acidic gases, such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2), from natural gas streams. This process is known as gas sweetening, and it ensures the quality of the natural gas for transportation and consumption. The most frequent use is as a component of MMA-triazine in triazine-based scavenging systems.
