Description
Piperazine (PPZ) is a highly effective amine used primarily as a kinetic enhancer in gas treating and carbon capture applications. Known for its rapid reaction rates with CO2, it is often blended with slower-acting amines like MDEA to improve absorption efficiency and reduce the energy requirements of solvent regeneration.
In high-pressure gas sweetening and Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) facilities, maintaining the precise concentration of piperazine is vital. Deviations can lead to decreased CO2 removal efficiency, increased solvent degradation, and issues with solubility or precipitation at high concentrations.
The OndaVia Piperazine Analysis Kit provides a fast, precise alternative to traditional gas chromatography (GC) or titration. While titration measures total alkalinity—making it difficult to distinguish between the primary amine and its promoters—Quantitative Raman Spectroscopy (QRS) identifies the specific molecular signature of piperazine. This allows operators to accurately monitor the “promoter” levels in a blended solvent independently of the base amine.
When utilized with the OPAL-103 or OPAL-104 systems, this kit enables on-site, real-time solvent management, ensuring that gas treating units operate at peak kinetic performance without the delay of laboratory lead times.
Key Features:
-
Promoter Specificity: Accurately measures PPZ levels within complex MDEA or amine blends.
-
Rapid Analysis: Provides concentration data in under five minutes for immediate process adjustment.
-
Low Interference: Unaffected by sample color, turbidity, or the presence of degradation products.
-
Field Optimized: Minimal sample preparation required, ideal for at-line or field-side testing.
Note: Tests are provided ten (10) per box. All OndaVia test kits require an OndaVia instrument to read the results.
