OndaVia offers a revolutionary approach to chemical analysis with our cutting-edge Quantitative Raman Spectroscopy (QRS™) technology. Our technique goes beyond traditional qualitative analysis, providing you with in-depth, quantifiable data to truly understand your process at the molecular level.
"Normal" Raman spectroscopy vs QRS
Raman spectroscopy is a powerful optical technique for chemical identification. With technology improvements driven by optical telecommunications, Raman spectrometers are smaller, more powerful, and more reliable than available even a few years ago. This advancement enables portable, laboratory-grade spectroscopic analysis. Traditionally, Raman spectroscopy provides a “chemical fingerprint” that can be matched against a database for identification. Think of rapid analysis at an airport to identify an unknown powder. But Raman is not typically considered a measurement technique due to numerous environmental variations that affect signal strength.
Backed by more than twenty-five US Patents, QRS converts Raman spectroscopy into a quantitative technique, even in the most complex samples. Our technology is based on the concept of an internal standard—a material added to the sample with a clear, known spectrum at a well-defined concentration. By scaling the Raman spectrum against the signal from the internal standard, QRS eliminates environmental variations. Frequent calibration becomes unnecessary. Calibration curves remain stable for decades. False negatives disappear. And detection limits improve, sometimes by many orders of magnitude.
